We are a family-run business offering a large variety of genuine Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine located in the beautiful seaside village of Tynemouth.
Our restaurant and café offer exceptional service and produce throughout the day from lunchtime specials to evening meals, including vegetarian options.
You don’t have to be hungry either! Iztuzu has a fully licensed bar that is open all day from 12:00 if you just fancy a drink with friends.

Situated on the North East coastline, this beautiful seaside village is the home of Iztuzu – in fact, Tynemouth’s famous Longsands beach inspired our name. See below to find out how!
With ample parking and great public transport Iztuzu is easy to get to any day of the week. A short Metro ride from Newcastle city centre will have you eating the best Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine around in no time. We’re also fortunate enough to have a taxi service across the road that will drop you and your party off… and take you home again without any fuss!

Iztuzu’s mission is to become our guests’ favourite destination to enjoy authentic Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine and hospitality. By capturing the traditional ambiance, replicating the true flavours, and providing excellent service, we ensure that our guests are completely satisfied, as though they have just visited Turkey or the Mediterranean themselves.
Why Iztuzu?
Iztuzu is a famous and remote beach located near Dalyan in the Octaca district of the Province of Mugla in South Western Turkey. Like Tynemouth Longsands, it too has a beautiful, long expanse of golden sand. We love it so much it became the inspiration for our name.
